Lazy days
Finally this semester over and I have some time to be easy. I'm chilling with my friends in Berlin right now, spending most of my days wakeboarding and playing basketball, tennis, or golf. Very refreshing, I needed a break. I've arrived tuesday afternoon and am planning to stay something around ten days. My parents are still on vacation in italy, so I have the house all for myself! It's so peaceful and calm... NOT! Also Sterling has announced his soon arrival in Berlin, but I don't yet know an exact date - will find out, though.
So anyways, I am not only having fun here, there's still some work to be done with my servers. Yesterday I transferred www.s9y.org over to the new server, which is now delivering www.jannis.to and www.s9y.org. The last thing to do is move www.supersized.org over to the new machine, but that's gonna be a little tricky, because while switching the server hardware I seemed to have thought why not switch the server software as well. As I mentioned before, I am now using lighttpd and hardened-php to deliver webpages.
Now that's a nice piece of inconsequential babbeling, yehaw!
Coincidence?
There is a very weird piece of architecture in San Diego Bay. It can be seen via google maps or by clicking the thumbnail above. Who builds something like this?
Was lange währt, wird endlich root
Just a quick shorty to tell you I'm alive. What happened, in short: Server hardware went byebye some weeks ago, s9y.org and supersized.org were emergency-moved to a small backup machine at my provider, the new server was ordered. New server arrived one week later, but was doa: dead on arrival. After an odissey of ordering new parts, another new server was ordered from another company. Since yesterday it's in the network operating center. The mailsystem has already been recovered, but is not performing any spamfiltering yet: Keep it comin'.
The site www.jannis.to (sounds familiar?) is the first one that is running on the new hardware. I've switched over to lighttpd together with hardened php. I hope everythings runs more or less schmoof now, if you note something funky, let me know.![]()
That's it for now, Compilerbau-Klausur tomorrow, plus three more tests next week. Expect s9y.org and supersized.org to be migrated to this new server within the next 14 days. I don't know yet.
