Safari 3 beta crashes

I just downloaded the Safari 3 beta for OSX and it crashes immediatly after launch. I dug into this a little and it turned out that the speed download enhancer was causing the crash. Speed download is a really neat download manager, but in order to use the Safari 3 beta, try removing the folder SpeedDownload Enhancer which is located in /Users/Library/InputManagers. If you're not using Speed Download, check out the InputManagers folder and try deleting it's contents one by one to see if that fixes the safari crash.

InputManagers that still work are Sogudi, Inquisitor and iGetter. Did you find any InputManagers that do or do not work?

UPDATE: The folks over at yazsoft already pushed a new release to fix this issue. Just launch Speed Download manually and it will prompt to update itself. Great! :)

hi, safari 3 beta crashes on me even when deleting any inputs (like speeddownload). anyone knows help?? :-(

Did you delete all Folders within the InputManagers folder? Did you restart Safari since deleting? :)

now it works: i deleted all inputmanagers content and reinstalled safari 3 beta (manually by opening the package and replacing safari with the zipped one in the content folder). safari 3 rocks! too bad i can't use speeddownload nor saft anymore! you know any working any alternatives for those apps??

Well, as I mentioned in the blog entry, Speed Download has been updated already. I don't know about saft, though...

I've got Inquisitor working, but Sogudi just makes the address bar unuseable. How did you make it work?

Hi Adam,

yeah, Inquisitor worked fine with the new safari. I have to pass on Sogudi, though, I didn't notice anything that didn't work. But I switched back to Safari 2.0.4, so I may just not have noticed that something was borked.

Have you tried downloading the newest version of Sogudi?
